For Jews, by Jews: this is not only our dream, but also our only option. There was a time in America where Jews did not need to separate themselves and create their own companies, but the sad truth is that antisemitism is on the rise, and the publishing industry is not immune. A recent study showed that book deals by Jewish authors/books featuring Jewish content are down nearly 90% since 2023. This is both alarming and not entirely unsurprising. 

Fortunately, we still have options: we can take things into our own hands. The growing lack of ideological and cultural diversity within modern literature was the inspiration behind the launch of Behemoth Books, but the necessity of it comes from the current, growing exclusion of Jews from literature. As we have done many times before, we must continue to fight antisemitism with our strong communities and values, including our enthusiastic support of literature.
